Richard Halbert, MD

Dr. Halbert joined Greeley Pathologists (now Summit Pathology) in 1998.

Richard Halbert, MDDr. Halbert is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, with subspecialty board certification in hematopathology. Dr. Halbert is active in multiple national pathology organizations. In addition to his role as a surgical pathologist with Summit Pathology, Dr. Halbert serves as the group’s quality coordinator, monitoring our practice to ensure continued excellent service. He has special interests and expertise in general surgical pathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology and coagulation, and clinical chemistry.

Dr. Halbert is a Colorado native and a graduate of the University of Colorado for both his undergraduate and medical degrees. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society while at CU. His internship and pathology residency were both performed at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. Dr. Halbert served in the United States Navy for eight years. Since leaving the military, he has had faculty appointments at the University of California, San Diego, and Creighton University, where he was honored as highest ranked teacher in the Pathology department.
